What To Expect

You don't have to be a geologist to enjoy the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, you just have to be a fan of timeless and eerily beautiful land formations. Located in the East and Northeast New Territories, Sai Kung is a unique region of rich geodiversity. With this 3-hour geopark boat tour, you'll explore the region's numerous outlying islands. Islands that are unique in natural scenery and others with a more rugged profile. Be in awe as you witness magnificent sea stacks, a rare acidic haxagonal volcanic rock columns of High Island, and rhyolite on Sharp Island, all of which is a result of how the rock layers of the Earth's surface had formed after hundreds of years. It's the perfect daytime activity if you want to enjoy a picturesque sight of natural land formation when you're in Hong Kong.

Would highly recommend this activity for those who want to stray away from the city and enjoy nature at its best. Our tour guide Frankie was really friendly and we were impressed with his knowledge of the outlying islands. He even has a file full of his research and self-taken pictures! Also, remember to bring your own snacks and drinks as you would be spending most of the time on the boat :)

Very informative experience! Our guide meiling was super friendly, knowledgeable and well prepared. She explained to us clearly and we could understand it with little to no knowledge of geology. We will never look at rocks the same way again :)

I get back from Canada and never been the HK Geopark. Can't imagine how amazing of the volcanic and the coastal landscape in Sai Kung. Ecotravel provides such a professional Geopark Guide, Gladys, she is knowledgeable, tell me about the exfoliation phenomenon of "pineapple bun" and Tombolo. Recommended joining their tour by boat if you are visiting Sai Kung. Smooth, not a long journey

The price is small because it is a charter boat. It is recommended to drag the family to the family. The tour guide is the owner of the computer business. The weekend part-time tour guide is very good and knowledgeable. The scenery is beautiful, Hong Kong's unique National Geological Park, there is no good tourist experience.

The day was very lucky and there were no other guests. Only the three of us chartered the boat. The narrator was very professional. The wooden boat transformed with a small fishing vessel had a unique flavor.
