What To Expect

Fans of the royal family, this is the ultimate travel destination for you. Buckingham Palace serves as both the office and London residence of Her Majesty the Queen. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today. When the palace is not being used in its official capacity, visitors can enjoy the State Rooms, which form the heart of the working palace - nineteen rooms, lavishly furnished with the finest treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin, and Canaletto and some of the finest English and French furniture. To mark the 70th birthday of The Prince of Wales this 2018, the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace will include a special display of over 100 works of art personally selected by His Royal Highness. Visitors end their tour with a walk along the south side of the palace garden, which showcases splendid views of the west front of the Palace and the famous lake.

Would definitely recommend getting this to save time and money. Just had to show them my online booking confirmation number to get my tickets to enter. You will get an audio guide when you come in and it’s self guided so you can take as long as you want.

There is an incredible mess at the entrance. At first voucher holders have to go to Gate A (ticket office) and spend there 15-30 minutes to exchange vouchers for tickets. Then take a huge queue to the entrance and security check (Gate C). It took us more than 1 hour to pass through (instead of recommended "15 minutes in advance of the specified time"). The Palace is magnificent and it is certainly worth seeing and compensates for bad emotions during getting in process. Please note that: a) No photos are allowed (only in the park after the exit from the Palace) b) No toilets at the entrance and in the Palace, only in the park after exit from the Palace (so 2-2,5 hours without toilets). Good luck!

It’s great to get in there. A free multimedia guide was provided as well. Photography is not allowed inside. Besides, it is no way to swap the date once u booked.

We were lucky to be able to see the state rooms in Buckingham Palace. The audio guide provided was comprehensive. It was delightful to see where the events of the Queen and her family take place.

it was raining the day we went so that was pretty horrible. there was a huge line outside of people waiting to get in and I felt like it was somewhat disorganized. but once we got inside, the tour was really nice. I loved seeing Buckingham palace. unfortunately the 1 hour wait outside in the rain pretty much drained me, so I was just hurrying up to finish all the rooms towards the end. Worth checking out tho!
