I chose the non-reserved seat option, which was actually great because I could take any train departing that day, regardless of the time. It was morning, so there were a lot of people, but luckily I was able to get a seat. The train arrival information board shows which cars are for non-reserved seating. On the train I took, cars 1 and 2 were for non-reserved seating. I was able to store my 20-inch carry-on suitcase on the overhead rack. I didn't have to exchange my ticket separately; I could scan the QR code I received from Klook at the gate and board immediately. The QR gate is separate from the IC card gate, and if you're not sure, you can ask a station employee and they will explain it to you.
